While both treatments share some common care instructions, there are key differences to keep in mind. Here’s everything you need to know to keep your hair looking its best.

Avoid Moisture 💧

Brazilian Blowout: You can wash your hair the next day after the treatment. However, for extra precaution, some clients choose to wait 24–48 hours. When you do wash, use a sulfate-free shampoo to preserve the treatment. Avoid exposing your hair to saltwater or chlorinated pools, as these can strip away the protective coating.

Keratin Treatment: Similar to the Brazilian Blowout, avoid washing your hair for 72 hours after a Keratin treatment. The key difference is that Keratin treatments also require you to avoid moisture (like sweating, rain, or humidity) during those initial 72 hours, as it can affect the bonding process. After the waiting period, use a sulfate-free, sodium chloride-free shampoo to maintain your treatment.
